Sacramento ‘Camp Resolution’ site for homeless community forced to shut down

(FOX40.COM) — A designated homeless encampment run by an advocacy group in north Sacramento will be forced to close down soon.

The City of Sacramento and Safe Ground Sacramento, previously entered into a lease agreement that allowed an area on Colfax Street and Arden Way to be used as an encampment, known as ‘Camp Resolution’. The lease was up for renewal on June 1, however, the city put the operation on notice through a letter that stated the agreement would be terminated and all occupants and property must leave the encampment by May 16.

Sacramento County to consider parking community for the homeless

Camp Resolution was the first of its kind – unlike other city-sanctioned campsites, the community was self-governed by 54 residents and provided an area for the homeless community to park their trailers. The city is reportedly in communication with Safe Ground Sacramento to discuss the possibility of a new site.
