Sachin and Babi Ahluwalia are more than just your average fashion designers. The couple, in business and in life, are true curators who create embroidered furniture, pillows, and housewares in addition to their much-loved cocktail dresses and gowns. All that was on display at the celebration for Sachin & Babi’s recently opened store on Madison Avenue last night where guests enjoyed miniature tacos, margaritas, and cupcakes in honor of the brand’s new mini earrings range.
The richly colored space was filled with the Ahluwalias’ longtime friends and clients, like their recent CFDA Awards date Brooke Shields, who didn’t let a recent knee surgery keep her from attending the party. Nell Diamond, Princess Deena Aljuhani Abdulaziz, and Kelly Rutherford numbered among the guests, too, though the most popular may have been the bulldog and pug candles for sale.
