Rylan Clark has thanked his fans following the reaction to his new travel show with Rob Rinder.

The pair joined forces for Rob and Rylan’s Grand Tour, a three-part series where they travel across Italy, using Lord Byron’s poems to guide them along the way as they stop off in Venice, Florence and Rome.

Following the release of the show on BBC iPlayer, Rylan took to social media to thank fans for their positive messages, writing on X/Twitter: “Wow, we never expected this reaction to the show. Thank you so much for the love. It’s so welcome x”

The post itself received several comments from fans, with one happy viewer responding: “I loved it. It's interesting and educational. Funny and sad. You two are the nicest of people. Your honesty when you both share your experiences and feelings is so emotional. Can't wait for the next episode.”

“What an absolute joy it’s just been to watch your new show with Rob Rinder… I’ve always thought you were a joy inside and out but seeing a new side to you.. a deeper side has been a true pleasure! Can’t wait to watch the rest!! Love ya Rylan x” added another fan.

“It was fun, poignant and refreshing. (In fact, it was just like an Aperol). I can already tell that 3 episodes is nowhere near enough” wrote another viewer, with another one adding: “Best thing I’ve watched in ages! You pair are the friendship we didn’t know we needed! Laughed and cried all through that. Can’t wait to see more!”

Ahead of the show’s launch, Rylan expressed his excitement at the prospect of working – and travelling – alongside Rinder, saying: “When I found out that Rob and I actually get to go travelling around Italy for the Grand Tour, I couldn't have packed my suitcase quicker.

“We're not going to be your typical Brits abroad though, as we properly immerse ourselves in all of Italy's cultural offerings. Rob will be teaching me all about Italian history and art as we follow in the footsteps of the cultural greats, while I show Rob how to dance on bars.”

Rob and Rylan’s Grand Tour streams on BBC iPlayer and airs on BBC Two on Sundays at 9pm.
