Russian invasion forces captured the village of Tonenke and retain tactical initiative along the entire front, Censor.NET editor Yuriy Butusov said in an interview with Radio NV on March 26.

“Unfortunately, yes, the enemy managed to capture the village of Tonenke, it did happen,” Butusov said.

“And the enemy is trying to advance further. Therefore, of course, the situation at the front remains acute. Russians do not stop infantry attacks. They do not stop ‘meat’ assaults.”

The Russian tactics consist of constant pressure on Ukrainian positions, constant exhaustion of the Ukrainian military and additional reconnaissance of the positions of Ukrainian defenders for air and artillery strikes.

“Therefore, the situation at the front remains very difficult, and the enemy continues to have a tactical initiative along almost the entire front line,” said the journalist.

What is known about the capture of Tonenke

Bild military analyst Julian Röpcke reported on March 25 that Russians had completely captured the villages of Tonenke and Orlivka, 5 km from Avdiivka.

Röpcke also wrote that the town of Chasiv Yar would be the next target of the Russians.

The capture of Tonenke and most of Orlivka by the Russians is also confirmed by DeepState data.

The General Staff’s report as of 6 a.m. on March 27 does not mention Tonenke or Orlivka.

The last time Tonenke was mentioned was in the General Staff’s report as of 6 a.m. on March 24.

“Avdiivka axis: Ukrainian defenders repelled 13 enemy attacks in the vicinity of Berdychi, Tonenke, Pervomayske, Yasnobrodivka, Nevelske (Donetsk Oblast),” the statement read.
