Russians attack seven districts in Sumy Oblast

Russian forces launched three missiles at the territory of Sumy Oblast and attacked seven hromadas there over the course of 17 February [a hromada is an administrative unit designating a town, village or several villages and their adjacent territories – ed.].

Quote: "Three missiles were launched at our oblast from the Russian Federation today [17 February – ed.]. Air defence systems shot down one missile. Another two S-300 [anti-aircraft] missiles hit the village of Krasnopillia. As a result of this missile strike, windows shattered in one building in Krasnopillia."

Details: Over the last day, Russian troops also carried out attacks on seven hromadas of the oblast. In total, more than 120 strikes were detected.

The occupiers presumably shelled Esman hromada with artillery; there were seven strikes. They also launched two mortar bombs.

The Russians hit Yunakivka hromada with mortars (16 strikes) and artillery (five strikes).

They fired 28 mortar bombs on the territory of Khotin hromada.

Russian forces attacked one village in Krasnopillia hromada with mortars, causing 12 strikes. There were three strikes from mortars in another village, as well.

The invaders also shelled the village of Krasnopillia itself from the territory of the Russian Federation. There was a strike near a railway station and in a residential neighbourhood. Information about casualties and damage is being clarified at the moment.

There was a mortar attack in Bilopillia hromada; nine strikes were observed.

Russian troops presumably deployed multiple-launch rocket systems to fire on Hlukhiv hromada; 30 strikes occurred.

The territory of Znob-Novhorodske hromada was hit with eight strikes.
