Russian strike on Kharkiv printing house: Vivat names killed workers

On Publishing, Printing and Book Distribution Workers’ Day, the publisher Vivat Publishing has named seven employees killed by Russia during the attack on their printing house in Kharkiv on 23 May.

Details: Seven people were killed in a Russian strike on Thursday:

  • Tetiana Khrapina, a print operator

  • Roman Strohyi, a glueing machine operator

  • Svitlana Ryzhenko, a brochure maker

  • Olha Kurasova, an automatic sewing machine operator

  • Olena Ninadovska, an automatic sewing machine operator

  • Hanna Mynaieva, a finishing machine operator

  • Dmytro Shylo, a brochure maker

Background: During a large-scale Russian attack on Kharkiv on Thursday, 23 May, the Russians hit a printing house. The police said that the Russians had previously struck with an S-300 anti-aircraft system, and three missiles had hit a shop and the surrounding area. Seven people were killed.

Four people were identified from DNA samples. Among the dead were machine operators, a typist and a stacker/packer.

A Russian missile strike on the Factor-Druk printing house in the Osnovyansky district of Kharkiv destroyed 50,000 books.
