Russian soldiers killed five people in occupied Kherson Oblast

Two Russian servicemen have been arrested in connection with the murders of five individuals in the occupied part of Kherson Oblast, the Russian Telegram channel Astra reported on April 25.

The report, dated April 25, details a series of violent acts that left both civilians and military personnel dead.

The victims include a 65-year-old woman from the village of Podo-Kalynivka, who was fatally shot on April 23; her home was subsequently set ablaze. In another incident in the village of Abrykosivka, the Moscow-appointed village head and a Russian serviceman were found dead in another burned-down residence. Additionally, a 32-year-old local resident and another Russian soldier were discovered murdered under similar circumstances.

The suspects, identified as 34-year-old Alexander Osypov and 36-year-old Alexander Kaigorodtsev, both previously convicted, were detained on April 24. They are suspected of involvement in all the reported deaths.

As of now, no criminal cases have been officially opened against the detained servicemen, Astra noted. This series of tragic events highlights the ongoing violence and turmoil within the Russian-occupied regions of Ukraine.
