Russian missiles entering NATO airspace should be intercepted — Lithuania

NATO countries ought to defend their airspace from Russian missiles en route to targets in Ukraine, Lithuanian Foreign Minister Gabrielius Landsbergis said in an interview with Fox News on March 25.
He said that NATO should reassess its doctrine on the matter and actually shoot down hostile UAVs and cruise missiles that violate the sovereign airspace of its members.

In the interview, Landsbergis stressed that this isn't the first time Russia has violated the airspace of alliance members.

“One time could be a mistake; but if we let it happen again, it will be seen as an invitation,” said Landsbergis.

“Therefore, we must change our attitude and send a clear signal that if it repeats, the missiles or drones will be shot down.”
Early in the morning on March 24, the Polish military reported that a Russian cruise missile entered Polish airspace near Ostrów in the Lublin Voivodeship at 5:23 a.m. Kyiv time, remaining in the nation's airspace for 39 seconds. Polish military radar systems tracked the target throughout its flight.
