A Russian mine exploded, instantly killing a tractor operator while he was working in a field in the village of Shyroka Balka in Kherson Oblast, the local prosecutor’s office reported on Telegram on March 8.

The tragic incident occurred on the morning of March 8, and the tractor driver was a local resident. While working in the field, he encountered an explosive device left by Russian occupiers, leading to his death from the blast.

The prosecutor’s office has initiated a pre-trial investigation into the violation of laws and customs of war, combined with intentional murder (Part 2 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

This is not the first case of fatalities among workers involved in land cultivation in the liberated Ukrainian territories. A significant portion of Kherson Oblast’s soil remains mined.
