Moscow has started recruiting women serving time across Russian correctional facilities to bolster its military, Ukraine’s National Resistance Center (NRC) reported on April 12.

The report states that recruiters from the Russian Defense Ministry are primarily looking for medics and snipers but are also seeking women for assault units. The imprisoned women are being offered substantial salaries and pardons for the crimes.

“It should be noted that the convicted women are readily agreeing to the terms, as they believe in the propaganda that they will return home alive,” the message said.

The NRC also urged people to report on the location of Russian military forces in occupied Ukrainian territories, guaranteeing complete anonymity to the sources.
