Russian jet accidentally drops FAB-500 bomb on Belgorod, seven civilians injured in explosion

At least seven civilians, including a child, were injured in the explosion of a FAB-500 bomb dropped by the Russian Air Force on its own administrative center of Belgorod on May 4, the Astra Telegram channel wrote on May 6.

Thirty-one residential buildings and 10 cars were damaged in the explosion, which was also reported by regional governor Vyacheslav Gladkov in his May 4 Telegram post, without specifying the cause.

According to Astra, more than 20 bombs were "lost" by Russian jets over Belgorod and the Oblast between March and April.

In late January, two FAB-250 bombs "unexpectedly" fell from Russian military aircraft in Belgorod Oblast. According to the Russians, the bombs did not explode and was later disarmed.

On Feb. 18, about 150 residents of the village of Soloti in Belgorod Oblast were evacuated after a FAB-250 bomb was accidentally dropped by a Russian jet.
