Russian forces remain concentrated around Avdiivka and Bakhmut — Estonian General Staff
The bulk of Russian units is concentrated along the Avdiivka–Bakhmut segment of the frontline in Donetsk Oblast, Estonia’s General Staff said in a report on May 10.
According to the report, cited by Estonian public broadcaster ERR, the Russians continue attempts to encircle and capture Chasiv Yar, where they have achieved "certain success." In this area, the enemy has concentrated about 20,000 troops.
At the same time, in Zaporizhzhia Oblast to the south, fighting intensity remains low, and no significant changes in territory held have been observed. Notably, the Armed Forces of Ukraine continue to hold a bridgehead on the left bank of the Dnipro River.

The report confirms that there is currently a formation of Russian units stationed along Ukraine’s northeastern borders, but their numbers are insufficient to mount a serious offensive on Kharkiv or Sumy.
“However, this does not rule out small-scale attacks or attempts to take control of these populated areas,” the assessment noted.
