Russian collaborator in Kherson Oblast injured in drone attack — report

A series of drone strikes targeted the residence and vehicle of Olha Baranovska, a Russia-appointed “official” in the occupied village of Velyka Lepetykha, Kherson Oblast, Ukraine-based Center of Journalistic Investigations reported on April 5. 

Local occupation authorities said there were five other casualties.

Russian sources indicated that the initial drone strike hit Baranovska's car, and subsequent attacks were directed at a second vehicle and near the occupation administration's headquarters in Velyka Lepetykha.

“Another explosion took place in the yard of Baranovska’s house in the neighboring village of Mala Lepetykha,” sources told the journalists.

“She was targeted by other drones en route to Velyka Lepetykha. Her current condition is unconfirmed, and she was promptly taken to a hospital.”

Additionally, a postal worker was reportedly wounded while transporting Russian currency to the occupation administration, believed to be for payroll distribution.

Baranovska was installed as the leader of the community by the occupying Russian force on Oct. 20, 2023.

In the 2020 Ukrainian elections, Baranovska unsuccessfully ran for a seat in the Kherson Regional Council as a candidate for the Servant of the People party.
