Denis Kharitonov, a member of the Astrakhan Regional Duma and a Russian army soldier, shared video footage on Telegram showing the destruction of his car in an explosion in Ukraine on May 1.

Kharitonov survived a blast that destroyed the vehicle he was using for "combat operations," managing to escape and retrieve essential items and documents from the fire.

"It's been a while since my car was detonated," he said.

"A specialized unit from the brigade has taken over the situation, and an investigation is underway."

Kharitonov has been actively involved in the war against Ukraine since before Russia's full-scale invasion. He has served in the assault brigade of the Baikal unit within the "Donbas Volunteers Union" since 2023 and also holds a position in the Astrakhan Regional Duma, according to a May 13 report by Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty's Caucasus.Realities media project.
