Russia used shrapnel warhead missile to attack Odesa, Ukraine says
Russian forces attacked Odesa with a shrapnel-loaded missile, specifically designed to maximize human casualties, Ukrainian military spokesperson Dmytro Pletenchuk told TV broadcasters on April 29.
"Shrapnel damage is visible on the walls around the impact area, indicating it's a weapon meant for engaging personnel in combat, not for civilian areas and noncombatants," said Pletenchuk.
He added that a detailed analysis of the debris by experts is forthcoming to confirm the exact types of munitions used against Odesa.
Ukraine’s Internal Ministry previously said the attack was made with a ballistic missile. Regional authorities confirmed that four people were killed and 28 — injured.
