A major crisis is brewing in Zaporizhzhya Oblast as Russian occupiers ramp up efforts to abduct residents, Zaporizhzhya Regional Military Administration head, Ivan Fedorov, said during a TV interview on May 21.

They have been systematically going door-to-door, abducting local civilians over the past two weeks, he said.

"We have observed a significant escalation in recent days, with the enemy once again capturing our people en masse,” Fedorov said.

“I can confirm that this has become the top priority issue."

He also spoke of the dire humanitarian situation in the occupied parts of Zaporizhzhya Oblast.

While food remains available, residents are struggling with its affordability.
