Russia loses 1,300 men, 15 tanks, 40 IFVs in one day – Ukrainian General Staff

Russians lost about 1.320 people against Ukraine over the past day, bringing total combat losses since the beginning of war to approximately 481.030 killed and wounded, General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported on Facebook on May 11.

In addition to personnel, Russia lost in Ukraine:

  • tanks - 7,449 (+15) units

  • armored combat vehicles - 14,353 (+40) units

  • artillery systems - 12442 (+55) units

  • MLRS - 1064 (+2) units

  • air defense systems - 796 (+1) units

  • aircraft - 349 (+0) units

  • helicopters - 325 (+0) units

  • UAVs of operational and tactical level - 9868 (+42)

  • cruise missiles - 2193 (+1)

  • ships/boats - 26 (+0) units

  • submarines - 1 (+0) units

  • motor vehicles and tankers - 16,755 (+64) units

  • special equipment - 2,040 (+9)

Russian losses in war against Ukraine

Spokesman for General Staff of Armed Forces of Ukraine, Andriy Kovalev on Feb. 27 explained that total losses of occupiers, published by General Staff, consist of two main indicators of losses suffered by enemy in course of hostilities. Namely, irrecoverable losses and combat sanitary losses of enemy.

In February, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that Russian losses amounted to 180.000 killed and up to half a million wounded.

Nazar Voloshyn, the spokesman for Khortytsia Operational and Strategic Troops Group, said that 85 percent of Russian losses were concluded in the eastern sector on April 25. This applies to both personnel and equipment.

The UK Minister of State for the Armed Forces Leo Docherty said on April 27 that approximately 450.000 Russian troops have been killed or wounded since the onset of the Russian war in Ukraine, the UK estimates suggest.

French Foreign Minister Stéphane Sejourne on May 3 noted that, according to his country's estimates, Russia has already lost 500.000 of its military in the war against Ukraine.
