Videos featuring individuals purporting to be Ukrainian men vacationing abroad and labeling themselves as 'evaders' have surfaced on TikTok and other social media platforms, garnering significant attention, Ukraine’s Main Intelligence Directorate (HUR) reported on April 16.

It has been observed that there is a simultaneous emergence of numerous songs and videos glorifying men who refuse to participate in the defense of their country. The anonymity of the authors, coupled with the organized promotion of this content by groups of bots, suggests a deliberate propaganda campaign.

HUR further adds that this information operation by Russia follows a classic strategy of dividing society, pitting “defenders” against “evaders.”

The purpose of such actions is to disrupt mobilization efforts and escalate tensions within Ukrainian society through internal conflict.
