Russia killed a 12-year-old girl and her grandmother in an attack on the village of Memryk, Donetsk Oblast with BM-21 Grad multiple rocket launchers on May 2, the Donetsk Regional Prosecutor's Office reported on Telegram.

"A 65-year-old grandmother and her 12-year-old granddaughter sustained injuries incompatible with life," the prosecutor's office said.

The 35-year-old mother of the child and a 68-year-old neighbor were also injured in the attack, suffering shrapnel and blast injuries.

The injured were in the yards of their homes when the Russian shells hit.

The Prosecutor's Office opened a case into the violation of laws and customs of war under Article 438 Part 2 of the Ukrainian Criminal Code.
