Russia hits Lviv Oblast with hypersonic Kinzhal missiles – less than 150 km from NATO territory

Russia launched another overnight missile strike on Lviv Oblast as part of its mass assault across Ukraine, said Lviv Regional Military Administration head, Maxym Kozytsky.

Kozytsky reported missiles travelling westwards towards Lviv Oblast, through the Vinnytsia, Khmelnytskyi, and Rivne oblasts at 5:38 a.m.

The missiles arrived in Lviv Oblast within 20 minutes and Kozytsky reported the use of anti-aircraft defense systems. He later announced that Russia had launched its Kinzhal “Dagger” hypersonic missiles toward the oblast.

Ukraine’s Air Force also issued warnings about the Kinzhal missiles heading towards western oblasts and Lviv.

Lviv Mayor Andriy Sadovyi alerted residents about incoming missiles targeting the city at that time.

By 6:18 a.m., Kozytsky informed that reconnaissance operations are ongoing in Lviv Oblast.

Russia launched a massive attack using drones and missiles, prompting alarms across Ukraine on the night of April 11. Explosions were reported in Kharkiv following ballistic threat announcements, with power outages.
