"Half of our energy system is damaged, and we still have to run the country, conduct military operations, and rally the support of the world," he told Foreign Policy.
Russian ballistic missiles are the real scourge of this war, he said.

"Recently, they are mainly used to destroy our energy system," Kuleba said.
"I dare say that if another country suffered from such a scale of energy destruction, it would look much worse than Ukraine. We hold on because we have learned a lot. We are stable, we know what the stakes are."
Russian attacks on Ukraine's energy infrastructure
Russia renewed its attacks on Ukraine's energy facilities in the spring of 2024 with its largest and most powerful strikes of the war.
Energy facilities nationwide were targeted in several Russian missile and drone attacks.

According to preliminary estimates, the latest Russian attacks on the Ukrainian energy system caused losses of at least 90-100 million euros - and that only includes the company's high-voltage equipment, said Ukrenergo head, Volodymyr Kudrytskyi, on March 24.
Against the backdrop of Russia's massive attacks on the Ukrainian energy system, it is necessary to prepare for any scenarios in the spring and summer, Energy Minister Herman Halushchenko said on April 12.
Germany will provide equipment from closed energy facilities to Ukraine, Halushchenko said on April 21.
