Russia claims ATACMS strike on oil depot in temporary occupied Luhansk Oblast – Video

Authorities of the so-called “Luhansk People’s Republic” claimed that Ukrainian troops allegedly struck an oil depot in Rovenky, Luhansk Oblast, with ATACMS missiles, leader of “LPR” Leonid Pasichnyk wrote on Telegram on May 11.

They noted that strike allegedly killed three people and wounded eight others, four of whom were seriously injured.

According to Russians, attack on Rovenky oil depot was allegedly carried out using ATACMS missiles with cluster munitions.

"LPR authorities" also stated that strike damaged residential buildings, agricultural machinery, and civilian vehicles.

Leader of the so-called “LPR” Leonid Pasichnyk on May 7 said that Ukrainian military had struck an oil depot located in temporarily occupied Luhansk. According to him, strike damaged power lines, partially cut off electricity to houses in the area of oil depot, and set a high-pressure gas pipeline on fire. He also claimed that strike was carried out by ATACMS missiles. Ukraine did not comment on the incident.

Ukraine has regularly targeted oil refineries in Russia with long-range drones since the end of January.

Ukraine's SBU Security Service has carried out at least 13 successful attacks on Russian refineries, SBU head Vasyl Malyuk stated.

As a result, oil production and processing in Russia decreased by 12%, he said, adding that oil export revenues make up one-third of the Russian budget and the "lion's share" of the military budget.

Politico reported that Russia was running out of gasoline as a result of drone attacks on refineries on April 30. It was noted that diesel prices for Russian consumers rose by almost 10% over the week. Gasoline prices have increased by 20% since the beginning of the year.
