Russians are building a new airfield about nine kilometers west of a military logistics center in Alexeyevka, Belgorod Oblast, according to satellite images posted by OSINT researcher RedIntel Panda on X on April 29.

“In July, 2023 a road was cut to the location, and by the start of winter grading for the runway appeared mostly complete,” he wrote.

“After the winter thaw, work has resumed. On April 27, a base layer or paving itself is ongoing on the runway. Sentinel Hub measures the runway at about 1800 meters. It is not huge, but can support various types of aircraft.”

The Ukrainian military and defense portal Defense Express confirmed that Su-34 bombers were stationed at the airfield in the village of Kuschevsk in Russia's Krasnodar Krai before the Ukraine's SBU Security Service reported the attack, on April 27.

Videos circulating online depict the destruction of a depot containing UMPK (Universal Planning and Correction Modules), which facilitate the conversion of conventional bombs into guided ones, said Defense Express. The footage also suggests damage to the flight control building and verifies the presence of Su-34 aircraft at the airbase.
