Russia attacks Kharkiv Oblast town with airstrike, leveling homes, trapping people under rubble

The town of Vovchansk in Kharkiv Oblast was attacked by Russians, the local police reported on Facebook on March 13.

A two-story building was damaged, and there may be people under the rubble.

The police received a report of an attack on the settlement around 3:00 p.m. According to preliminary data, the Russian military dropped a bomb on Vovchansk.

An investigative team, forensic experts, and explosives experts arrived at the scene.

“Investigators have opened criminal proceedings over the violation of the laws and customs of war under Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine,” the statement reads.

There is no information about the casualties, said Oleh Synehubov, the head of the Kharkiv Oblast Military Administration.

Russian forces deployed aircraft in the town, resulting in one man being hospitalized with shrapnel wounds to his head, said Serhiy Bolvinov, the head of the Kharkiv regional police investigation department.
