Rushville Middle School writers to attend Power of the Pen state tournament

Fairfield Union’s Rushville Middle School has six creative writers who have advanced to the Power of the Pen State Tournament at Ashland University on May 16-17. The school is extremely proud of their accomplishments and writing styles.

The following students will creatively compose writing pieces during three separate 35-minute timed sessions:

8th Grade: Karah Borah, Addison Kellenbarger, Megan Maloney

7th Grade: Alaina Leonard, Kate Springer, Ella Truax

In addition, Addison Kellenbarger earned the Regional Platinum Pen Award with her first place writing composition, “Fragments of Happy." She is eligible for publication in this season’s edition of the Book of Winners. Additionally, she will be recognized for her Regional Platinum Pen Award Achievement during the Awards Ceremony at the State Tournament at Ashland University.
