RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars season 9 has unveiled a brand-new trailer explaining the its format twist in more detail.

In a voiceover, drag royalty RuPaul teases: "For the first time ever, eight iconic queens compete to save the world. They'll be competing for the charity of their choice," before quipping in a scene snippet: "I want you to use your talent for good... for a change!"

Guest judges including Nope's Keke Palmer, The White Lotus star Connie Britton, Oscar nominee Stephanie Hsu and singer Anitta are also seen in the trailer for the new All Stars season, which begins streaming on Friday, May 17.

The trailer also teases some of this season's challenges including an acting challenge – and of course, there's a glimpse at some of the tea spilled in the Werk Room.

It was confirmed last month that the returning queens will be competing for a $200,000 prize pot supplied by The Palette Fund. RuPaul will be joined by Michelle Visage, Carson Kressley, Ross Mathews and Ts Madison on the panel.

The All Stars 9 lineup features Jorgeous and Angeria Paris VanMichaels from season 14, season 13 finalist Gottmik, plus season 11 stars Nina West and Plastique Tiara (Original Season: 11).

They'll be joined by Roxxxy Andrews from season 5 and All Stars 2, Shannel from season 1 and All Stars 1, and Vanessa Vanjie Mateo, who appeared in both seasons 10 and 11 of the main series.

Franchise creator RuPaul recently stepped down from hosting the fourth season of Drag Race Down Under, with Visage taking over as host.

RuPaul's Drag Race: All Stars 9 will premiere on May 17 on WOW Presents Plus in most territories (excluding the US, Canada and Australia). The US airs the season on Paramount+.
