When she was diagnosed, she was shocked and fell into a depression. To help lift her spirits, her husband encouraged her to continue with her love of running and she found that it helped with her depression. She experienced a setback when her MS began causing her to trip and fall while she ran and her doctor said she might have to stop. Not giving up, she sought help from the Hanger Clinic, which created a carbon fiber ankle brace that helps her from falling while she runs.

“MS is not a life sentence and you can still lead a very good life,” she says of what she’s learned since being diagnosed 10 years ago.
