- Former Australia captain Ben Mowen looks likely to be given his Top 14 debut by Montpellier away to unbeaten Clermont on Friday.

Mowen, 29, did not get any playing time in Montpellier's first two matches, a loss to Racing-Metro and a narrow win over Grenoble.

Mowen as Wallabies captain enjoyed a successful November tour of the northern hemisphere last year.

Along with Mowen, caoch Fabien Galthie is also likely to hand first starts to new recruits Antoine Battut and Kiwi lock Tom Donnelly.

Clermont will be without two key players as former France backrower Julien Bonnaire and Fijian wing Napolioni Nalaga are injured.

Elsewhere Toulouse travel to new boys La Rochelle on Saturday.

Toulon, who beat La Rochelle 60-19 last wekend, face a tough assignment with a trip to Racing-Metro.
