Rudy Guliani’s Radio Show Cancelled Over His Election Conspiracies

Rudy Giuliani’s refusal to stop pushing election conspiracies has already cost him plenty, and on Friday the former New York City mayor and Trump sycophant was dealt another blow — this time through the cancellation of his radio program.

WABC, the radio station that hosted Giuliani’s program Rudy Giuliani, suspended the host and canceled the show after he repeatedly refused to comply with a station policy barring on-air claims disputing the legitimacy of the 2020 election.

According to a New York Times interview with John Catsimatidis, the billionaire Republican who owns the station, the station “warned him once. We warned him twice. And I get a text from him last night, and I get a text from him this morning that he refuses not to talk about it.”

“We’re not going to talk about fallacies of the November 2020 election,” Catsimatidis added. “He left me no option. I suspended him.”

Giuliani is currently at the center of a myriad of legal disputes regarding his efforts to undermine the results of the 2020 election, and his unchecked spread of voter fraud conspiracies. Giuliani has been indicted in criminal cases in both Georgia and Arizona related to schemes to undermine the election results in those states.

In December of last year, Guiliani was ordered to pay $148 million to two Georgia election workers for spreading defamatory conspiracy theories about them. The jury found Giuliani owes Wandrea ArShaye “Shaye” Moss and her mother Ruby Freeman $16,998,000 and $16,171,000, respectively, for defamation; $20 million a piece for emotional distress; and $75 million total in punitive damages. The pair sued Giuliani in December 2022, alleging that the attorney had falsely accused them of manipulating the 2020 presidential vote in Georgia. In August, Giuliani was found liable for spreading false claims about Moss and Freeman.

On top of all that, Guilani is facing scrutiny in Special Counsel Jack Smith’s investigation into the Jan. 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol, disbarment proceedings, and sexual assault allegations. Even Giuliani’s former attorneys are suing him over unpaid legal bills.

In December, Giuliani filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in an attempt to avoid his growing mountain of legal bills, but it seems his sense of self-preservation is just as empty as his wallet.
