RTA to hold public hearings next month for potential fare changes

Editor’s note: A previous version of this story indicated that RTA would be considering raising adult ride fares from $1.75 to $2. That was the last fare increase RTA implemented in 2018.

People can tell RTA how they feel about possible fare changes next month.

RTA has proposed changes to all fare charges, including raising the adult single-ride fare from $2 to $2.10 in September. The proposed change would then implement a 10-cent increase in January 2025, May 2025, September 2025, and January 2026. That would make the fare $2.50 come January 2026.

The hearings will be from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. on April 17 and from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. on April 18. Both hearings are at Wright Stop Plaza on South Main Street in Dayton.
