The Royals are selling tickets at a significantly reduced rate via three special deals

The Royals rank 28th in baseball in attendance, averaging 16,131 fans per game at Kauffman Stadium. Only the Marlins and A’s are drawing fewer.

Given the Royals’ 22-56 record, the second-worst in Major League Baseball, that should not be a big surprise.

But the Royals are trying to entice fans to Kauffman Stadium with giveaways and ticket specials. The club is offering three deals that include tickets at a significantly reduced price.

Here’s a closer look.

Score 4 Pack

The Royals have heard from fans who are upset about the cost of parking at the Truman Sports Complex.

With the Score 4 Pack deal, fans can get four tickets to a game, along with a parking pass. This deal also includes four hot dogs and four beverages (small bottle of water or “value” soda).

For tickets in the View Outfield area, the cost is $40 for that package. It’s $60 in the Outfield Plaza and $80 for Field Plaza seats.

“Purchase up to four additional tickets,” the team wrote on its website. “Plus, each additional ticket includes a hot dog and soda. Purchasing four additional tickets will add a second parking pass.”

The deal is for select games; there is an option for Sunday games that costs $50 or $100, depending on seat location.

General admission seats

Once upon a time, fans could purchase tickets for a Royals game in general admission areas. There were no seat assignments in those areas — just a place to watch the game.

It’s back this year in Section 111 (Field Box GA) and Section 211 (Field Plaza GA). Both are down the left-field line.

“You can save up to 40% compared to other lower level Field Box and Field Plaza tickets,” the Royals wrote on their website.

Jackson County deal

The Royals said they offer a 50% discount on select tickets to citizens of Jackson County for “at least 20 home games” each season.

Earlier this month, the Royals announced that they were broadening the offer to include all Friday games, as well as Saturday games on July 15 and Sept. 16.

”For redemption of their ticket discount, Jackson County fans will now have the Outfield Plaza, Loge Outfield, and View Level seating areas to choose from,” the team said in a news release.
