Celebrity friends of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle shared glimpses on social media of the intimate second reception for the couple following the Royal wedding.

A select 200 close friends were invited to the evening party at Frogmore House following the main reception at Windsor Castle, which was attended by the 600 guests who were also at the St George’s Chapel ceremony.

The smaller reception was billed as a private affair and a chance for the selected guests to relax and celebrate with the happy couple.

Frogmore House, a 17th century English country house, stands in the home park of Windsor Castle and is part of the Crown Estate. It is a private retreat for the Royal Family and only open to the public on three days of the year.

One of the guests to make the select reception for Prince and Ms Markle, who became the Duke and Duchess of Sussex yesterday, was tennis champion Serena Williams.

Mrs Williams shared a picture on Instagram from the grounds showing she had changed from her initial wedding outfit into a more informal floral dress for the reception.

The 23-time Grand Slam winner first became friends with the Duchess in 2014 after they took part in a game of flag football at a celebrity beach bow event, where they were on the same team.

Another friend of the Duchess to attend was the Indian actress Priyanka Chopra, who also shared a photo of her Frogmore outfit.

The Duchess’s close friend Jessica Mulroney, whose children were bridesmaids and a page boy at the ceremony, was also in attendance.

Prior to heading to the venue, Mrs Mulroney, who is married to Ben Mulroney - a TV host and son of the former Canadian prime minister Brian Mulroney, shared a photo of herself in a figure-hugging, sequinned, floor length dress.

A police officer chatted with the couple as they sat in the back of a grey Audi A5 at the entrance to the 17th century residence.

Mr Clooney was also seen gesticulating towards the officer before eventually being allowed to proceed into the mansion’s grounds.

Festivities at the party went late into the night as the thud of loud music could be heard from the grounds into the early hours.

At around 11pm an exquisite fireworks display lit up the night sky over Frogmore House.

The pair also changed into more relaxed attire for the Frogmore reception, with the Duke opting for black tie evening wear, compared to the frockcoat uniform of the Blues and Royals he wore at the ceremony.

Ms Markle changed from her wedding dress into a sleek Stella McCartney dress with a halter neck, showing off her shoulders and back with her hair up in a chic bun.

The dress was described as a “bespoke lily white high neck gown made of silk crepe”, with satin shoes from Aquazurra with soles painted in baby blue: her “something blue”.
