Royal wedding guest list: Who will Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank invite?
Earlier this year, George and Amal Clooney almost stole the show when they graced the small town of Windsor for the wedding of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, with Amal's mustard Stella McCartney dress and George's well-groomed salt and pepper beard setting social media abuzz.
There is speculation we may see the A-list couple in Windsor again this Friday; the couple are rumoured to be attending the wedding of Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank - which will also take place in Windsor Castle's St George's Chapel.
Cindy Crawford, Eddie Redmayne and Robbie Williams could also be on the guest list, as well as senior members of the royal family and selected members of the public. Here is everything we know so far about the guest list, from royal family members to celebrity friends.
Family members
Earlier this year, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex exchanged vows in front of more than 30 members of the Royal family, which give us an idea of what to expect for the upcoming royal nuptials.
The princess' grandmother, the Queen, is sure to attend - as is her uncle, Prince Charles. However the Duchess of Cornwall will not be attending, instead undertaking a a prior engagement at a primary school’s harvest festival celebrations in Scotland.
And the Duke of Edinburgh will make a last minute decision as to whether he will attend the event, royal sources have told the Telegraph. At 97, Prince Philip now operates on a “wake up and see how I feel” basis, according to insiders.
A well-placed source said: “The Duke of Edinburgh may not go to the wedding, just as he and the Queen did not attend Prince Louis christening in July.
“The royals are like any family in the sense they try to make family occasions but it is not always possible. I’m sure he would love to be there to see his granddaughter get married but no one would blame the Duke if he didn’t feel up to attending the wedding on the day - he’s only three years off 100.”
Naturally the Duke and Duchess of York, Princess Eugenie's parents, will play a large role in the proceedings. A friend of the Duchess said she was feeling nervous about being reunited with her former in-laws after being treated as somewhat of a royal outcast since she divorced Andrew in 1996.
“She does have to take a deep breath before these occasions,” said the source. “She’s avoided major royal events in the past and it wasn’t easy for her to go to Harry and Meghan’s wedding.”
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are expected to attend the wedding - in a much more relaxed capacity than their previous trip to Windsor, no doubt - before their 20-day trip abroad, which begins on October 16. On their itinerary is Sydney for the Invictus Games, Fiji and New Zealand.
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are also expected to attend; however Prince Louis, who was less than a month old by the time of Prince Harry's wedding and was not present, is likely to be cared for by a nanny close by.
Other royal relatives are likely to include The Duke and Duchess of Gloucester and Kent, Prince and Princess Michael of Kent, and the Duke and Duchess of Gloucester - all of whom are neighbours of the engaged couple at Kensington Palace.
The Princess Royal, the Queen's granddaughter Zara Tindall and her husband Mark Tindall are also expected to be on the guest list.
It is not yet confirmed whether any members of other royal families from around the world will attend the ceremony.
Mr Brooksbank is the son of George Brooksbank, a 68 year-old chartered accountant and company director, and his wife Nicola, 64, both of whom are expected to play a central role in the wedding.
The bridal party
Princess Eugenie announced in an interview with British Vogue earlier this year that her older sister Princess Beatrice will play a central role, as Maid of Honour. The groom's younger brother Thomas, 29, has been chosen as best man.
Prince George and Princess Charlotte will step into the roles of pageboy and flower girl once again. The siblings already know the score - as well as performing those roles at the wedding of Prince Harry and Ms Markle earlier this year, they did so at the wedding of Pippa Middleton, the Duchess of Cambridge's younger sister, to James Matthews in May last year.
Prince George, five, will be joined by fellow page boy Louis de Givenchy - the six year-old son of JP Morgan banking executive Olivier de Givenchy and his wife Zoe.
Robbie Williams' daughter Theodora will be among the team of pageboys and bridesmaids, Buckingham Palace has confirmed.
The other bridesmaids will be Peter and Autumn Phillips' daughters Savannah and Isla, and Zara Tindall's spirited four-year-old Mia, along with Maud Windsor, who is Eugenie's goddaughter and the daughter of Lord Frederick Windsor and his actress wife Sophie Winkleman.
Maud is sure to be guided by her classmate Prince George; the two are in the same class at St Thomas’ School in Battersea.
The Queen's youngest grandchildren, 14-year-old Lady Louise Mountbatten-Windsor, and 10-year-old Viscount Severn, who are the children of the Earl and Countess of Wessex, will take on the role of Special Attendants.
Celebrity friends
There are rumours George Clooney and his wife Amal will be in Windsor once again this October as the A-list actor has a connection to the groom. Wine merchant Mr Brooksbank is a brand ambassador for Casamigos Tequila, a company owned by George Clooney.
Rande Gerber, the husband of Cindy Crawford, is also a founder of Casamigos, which means the couple may have received an invitation too.
Princess Eugenie is close friends with model Cara Delevingne, singer Ellie Goulding, and the Duke of Sussex's former girlfriends Chelsy Davy and Cressida Bonas, all of whom are expected to attend. Karlie Kloss accompanied Ellie Goulding and the princess on a trip to Jordan earlier this year, leading some to wonder if she will make an appearance in Windsor in October.
The daughter of Robbie Williams, five-year-old Theodora Rose, has been confirmed as a flower girl at the wedding, which means we can expect to see the singer and his wife, Ayda Field, in the pews. The ex-Take That star and his wife have been friends with Eugenie and her sister, Princess Beatrice, for several years.
James Blunt, who attended the wedding of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex earlier this year, is expected to be at Princess Eugenie's wedding. His wife Sofia Wellesley is the daughter of Lord and Lady John Henry Wellesley and he is a regular at Royal occasions.
Eddie Redmayne and his wife Hannah Bagshawe became friendly with Princess Eugenie while lived in New York, working for the fine art auction house Paddle8.
Plus, Mila Kunis and Ashton Kutcher have been seen dining and on holiday with Princess Beatrice over the years; if they want to attend a royal wedding they may have asked their friend to convince her sister to send an invitation their way.
Members of the public
The couple are inviting 1,200 members of the public into the grounds of Windsor Castle for their October wedding, following in the footsteps of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.
Announcing details of the wedding, a spokesman for Buckingham Palace said the couple would be inviting members of the public to share their day.
"The couple are delighted to announce an opportunity for 1,200 people from across the United Kingdom to be invited into the grounds of Windsor Castle to share the experience of their special day," a spokesman said.
"The attendees will view the arrival of the congregation and members of the Royal Family, listen to a live broadcast of the marriage service and watch as the bride and groom depart St George's Chapel at the end of the ceremony."
Following the ceremony, the newlyweds will undertake a carriage procession through the town of Windsor, where members of the public will be able to get a glimpse of the couple.
According to Buckingham Palace, the carriage will journey through the grounds of Windsor Castle, enter the town at Castle Hill and proceed along Windsor High Street, then return to the castle grounds at Cambridge Gate.
Princess Eugenie and Mr Brooksbank will also invite members of the Windsor community, representatives from their favourite charities, residents of the castle and some Royal Household staff to stand in the grounds, along with children from the local schools which Princess Eugenie attended.
