A huge amount of time, money and people go into hosting a royal wedding. Here we break down the mind-boggling figures. 

The guestlist

Invitations have been made by Barnard & Westwood. The service is at St George's Chapel, followed by a reception at St George's Hall, which is being hosted by the Queen.

Guests are invited to the private reception at Frogmore House in Windsor Home Park.

Members of the public have been invited to the Windsor Castle grounds. Made up of 1,200 nominated by nine regional Lord Lieutenent officers; 200 people from charities and organisations; 100 pupils from local schools the Royal School and St George's School; 610 Windsor Castle's community members; 530 members of the Royal Households and Crown Estate.

A huge logistical operation

Royal Borough Ambassadors have volunteered to steward the event and assist visitors during the day.

Four

The number of Windsor Grey Horses that will be pulling the Ascot Landau that Harry and Meghan will ride in around Windsor after the wedding.

Horses Plymouth and Londonderry will also act as two outriders, with Milford Haven, Sir Basil, Tyrone and Storm will be the four pulling the carriage. In the event of rain the couple will ride in a  Scottish State Coach with a glass ceiling.

The amount of cable that will be laid out by Sky so they can broadcast coverage of the wedding in UHD, making them the first broadcaster to televise it in 4k, which for those who have 4k telly will offer four times the pixels than a Full HD display.

The couple will be drive for two miles along Castle Hill, the High Street and into Windsor town centre before returning along the Long Walk for their reception.

The age of the cellist, Sheku Kanneh-Mason who has been invited to play during the ceremony.  ‘I was bowled over when Ms. Markle called me to ask if I would play,’ he said. ‘Of course I immediately said yes! What a privilege to be able to play the cello at such a wonderful event.’

Determined to show off the U.K. to his American bride, Harry took Meghan to various cities including Nottingham for World AIDS Day, Birmingham for International Women’s Day,  Northern Ireland and Stephen Lawrence’s memorial service at St Martin-in-the-Fields church in London.
