Rowland police look for ‘armed and dangerous’ man after shooting

ROWLAND, N.C. (WBTW) — The Rowland Police Department is looking for an “armed and dangerous” in connection with a shooting that injured a woman on Monday.

Warrants have been issued for Deonta Montrel McDaniel, 37, of Rowland, and police warned that members of the public should not approach him or try to detain him.

Officers were called at about 7 p.m. Monday to the 400 block of South Hickory Street to investigate a report of shots being fired during a domestic situation. When they arrived, the found a woman with gunshot wounds.

She had life-threatening injuries and was flown to McLeod Regional Medical Center, police said. No additional information was immediately available.
