Rowan County man arrested on child sex charges out of Pennsylvania

SALISBURY, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — A Rowan County man was arrested Tuesday by authorities in Pennsylvania on child sex charges.

According to the Upper Allen Police Department, officers began investigating a report of an adult suspect having illegal communications with a juvenile female. The suspect was identified as 52-year-old Richard Vogt.

Man stabbed, woman struck with baseball bat during neighbor brawl in Rowan County: Sheriff

A search warrant was executed at his residence in the 3400 block of Bringle Ferry Road, and additional evidence was reportedly located. Officers say Vogt surrendered to police on March 26. He is charged with:

Unlawful Contact with a Minor
Obscene and Other Sexual Materials
Corruption of Minors
Criminal Use of a Communication Facility

Vogt has since been released on bail, and a preliminary hearing will be held in the near future. The Upper Allen Township Police were assisted by the Rowan County Sheriff’s Office.
