Roseville man found guilty of murdering roommate

(FOX40.COM) — A Roseville man has been found guilty by a Placer County jury of stabbing his roommate 17 times leading to their murder in June 2022, according to the Placer County District Attorney’s Office.

On June 15, the Roseville Police Department and Roseville Fire Department responded to a home on Loretto Avenue, near Frances and Santa Clara drives, where they found a man lying on the floor with a broken-off knife blade stuck in his body.

The police department immediately ruled the death as “suspicious” and later that day arrested Ryan Bacon, the victim’s roommate, after he was spotted by police walking down Douglas Blvd. with a knife handle in his pocket.

Bacon admitted to killing his roommate during a police interview and was charged with first-degree murder by police.

Bacon will be sentenced at 8:30 a.m. on June 20 in Department 3 of the Placer County Superior Court of Roseville.
