RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) -- Furniture retailer Rooms To Go says it plans to build a new warehouse, distribution center and retail showroom in Harnett County, creating 220 jobs over the next three years.

State officials announced Thursday that the company also plans to invest $40 million in Dunn.

Rooms To Go has approximately 150 stores in 10 states, and also sells to consumers online. It currently employs more than 180 people in North Carolina.

Officials say the company plans to build a 1.1 million square-foot facility to serve as a warehouse, distribution center and retail showroom. It will be the primary distribution and processing center for online deliveries to customers throughout the eastern U.S.

Salaries will vary by job function, but the average annual wage for the new jobs will be $28,000 plus benefits.
