‘Ron’s magic is GONE:’ Trump weighs in on Jacksonville mayoral race, DeSantis’ endorsement of Davis

Former President Donald Trump is weighing in on the outcome of the City of Jacksonville’s 2023 mayoral election.

Trump said in a series of posts on his Truth Social platform that Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis’ endorsement of Republican mayoral candidate Daniel Davis didn’t seem to help:

“Wow! In a big upset, the DeSanctimonious backed Republican candidate for Mayor of Jacksonville, Florida, LOST. This is a shocker. If they would have asked me to Endorse, he would have won, easily. Too proud to do so. Fools! This is a BIG LOSS for the Republican Party. Remember, ‘Rob’ only won because of me!!!”

Davis lost Tuesday to Democratic candidate Donna Deegan, who became the city’s first female mayor.

Trump also said, “DeSanctimonious lost Jacksonville and Kentucky last night. Not good!!!” alluding to the fact that DeSantis’ last-minute endorsement of Kentucky Republican gubernatorial candidate Kelly Craft did not help either.

Trump mentioned the candidate he endorsed won the Republican nomination for governor in Kentucky:

“Congratulations to a ‘star’ in Kentucky, Danial (sic) Cameron, who easily won the Republican Nomination for Governor. He had my Complete and Total Endorsement. The DeSanctimonious backed candidate came in a DISTANT third. Ron’s magic is GONE! He also lost, shockingly, in Jacksonville last night (Mayor).”
