Romney's Attempted Glitter Bomber Faces Six Months in Jail

The guy who threw glitter at Mitt Romney in Colorado (but missed) now faces six months in jail for the attempted glitter-bombing as prosecutors in Colorado charged him with misdemeanors on Wednesday. Peter Smith didn't even make contact with the candidate Tuesday night in Denver, the Los Angeles Times reported on Wednesday, noting at the time that Smith had been given a citation for causing a disturbance. But Smith faces much more than a citation now, with three misdemeanor charges, including  "creating a disturbance, throwing a missile and an unlawful act on school property," according to MSNBC. This could lead to up to six months' jail time and a $1,000 fine. It might have been worth it to Smith if he'd given Romney a face-full, but six months for missing his target? That'll be a bitter pill if he has to swallow it.
