Roger Stone says he’ll seek delay in prison sentence

Roger Stone will seek to delay the start of his prison sentence, he said on social media Sunday.

“I am headed to Court this week to delay the death sentence ordering me to a COVID-19 infested prison. Help me StoneDefenseFund.com,” he posted on Facebook.

Stone, a longtime confidant of and adviser to President Donald Trump, is due to start his previously postponed prison sentence June 30.

He was convicted in November of lying to Congress, witness-tampering and obstructing a congressional investigation into the president; in February, Stone was sentenced to more than three years in prison.

Trump has strongly hinted that Stone will not serve any time. On June 4, he tweeted: “Roger was a victim of a corrupt and illegal Witch Hunt, one which will go down as the greatest political crime in history. He can sleep well at night!”
