Philippines rock icon rushed to hospital after suffering stroke for the third time

16 Nov – It was reported that Pinoy rock legend, Joey "Pepe" Smith has been rushed to the hospital, following another stroke.

According to Rappler, on the wee morning of 15 November, 69-year-old Smith was taken to the Metro Antipolo Hospital, and straight to its Acute Stroke Unit after suffering a stroke - the third time since 2016.

It was revealed that the first stroke left him with a minor speech impediment.

Family and friends are now calling for prayers from fans of the rock icon, who is currently in a stable condition.

Earlier this year, Smith announced that he will no longer perform live due to health issues, and would have his last live show on 18 November at the Amoranto Stadium, Quezon City.

As of now, nothing has been said about the upcoming Rockfest.
