Robert Pattinson recently shared his thoughts about the series of tweets President Donald Trump posted about him and his ex-girlfriend, Kristen Stewart.
On Friday, Pattinson told Entertainment Weekly that it was surreal on so many different levels that Trump tweeted about him several years ago. “Your identity exists on many different planes at the same time and they all can be quite different from each other. When he said that, it didn’t really mean anything. But I guess now I’m sort of thinking, like, ‘Well, I guess that is related to me.’ But how does that fit with all the other things going on in my life? And sometimes you think, ‘Can I use this in my acting or should I putting this away?’ It’s kind of interesting, I guess. I don’t know – this could be why people get annoyed with me,” he said.
In 2012, Trump wrote that Pattinson shouldn’t take back Stewart because she allegedly cheated on him “like a dog.” According to Entertainment Weekly, Stewart had an affair with her “Snow White and the Huntsman” director Rupert Sanders while she was still in a relationship with Pattinson. Stewart later on apologized for it.
While speaking with Variety earlier this year, Stewart said that Trump was mad at her for a couple of years. “Really obsessed with me a couple of years ago, which is [really] crazy. At that point, he was just like, a reality star. I had no reference. It wasn’t like a real thing. But in retrospect, somebody reminded me of that and I was like, ‘Oh my gosh, you’re right!’ He’s probably, like, going to tweet about this,” she said.
In February, Stewart graced “Saturday Night Live” and mocked the president of the United States regarding their connection with each other. “I’m a little nervous to be hosting because I know the president’s probably watching, and I don’t think he likes me that much. So, yeah, that’s crazy right? The president is not a huge fan of me. But that is so okay. And Donald, if you don’t like me then you probably really aren’t going to like me now, because I’m hosting ‘SNL,’ and I’m like, so gay, dude,” she said.
