Robert Downey Jr And Richard Linklater Are Teaming Up For A Real-Life Con Man Story

Good news if you're a fan of Dazed and Confused director Richard Linklater or Avengers star Robert Downey Jr - the pair will be collaborating on a film based on the recent "Man of the People" episode from the "Reply All" podcast.

The plot of the currently untitled features will tell the true story of two doctors: Dr. John Brinkley, who scammed his way to fame and fortune using fake medicine, populism and radio, and Dr. Morris Fishbein, the editor who goes on a decade-long quest to take Brinkley down.

Richard Linklater is also on board as a co-producer under his Detour Film production banner, along with Gimlet Media who produce the podcast.

According to the film's IMDB page, which was updated yesterday, Downey Jr will play John Brinkley but no word yet on when we can expect the film to be released.
