Road projects updated for the week of May 6

May 4—The Texas Department of Transportation plans to conduct the following construction and maintenance work in the district during the week of May 6, 2024. Work schedules are subject to change due to weather conditions, equipment failure or other unforeseen issues. Slow down and pay attention in work zones.

This week, Jacksonville crews will be performing ditch maintenance at various locations throughout the county. Expect daytime lane closures with flaggers controlling traffic.

The contractor on the SH 204 project, adding a super-two highway section, will continue work on the cross culvert construction and clearing the right-of-way. Traffic delays are expected. This project, extending from SH 110 to the Rusk County line, is expected to be completed in summer 2024.

The contractor on the US 175 widening project is scheduled to continue clearing and preparing the right-of-way, utility relocations, and drainage structure work. The extend of this project is from 0.5 miles east of the Anderson County line (CR 3509) to FM 347 in Jacksonville. Motorists should use caution when traveling through the project. The project consists of expansion of US 175 to a four-lane roadway with new bridges, grading, hot mix application, drainage structures, pavement markings, and signage.
