Road closures in Northwest DC for National Asian Heritage Festival announced

WASHINGTON (DC News Now) — The Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) said the 2024 National Asian Heritage Festival in D.C. will shut down some roads in Northwest on Saturday.

These streets will not allow parking from 1 a.m. to 10 p.m.:

  • 4th Street from Pennsylvania Avenue to Madison Drive, NW

  • 6th Street between C Street and Constitution Avenue, NW

  • Constitution Avenue between 6th Street and 3rd Street, NW

  • Pennsylvania Avenue between 6th Street and 3rd Street, NW

These streets will be closed from 2 a.m. to 10 p.m.:

  • 4th Street from Pennsylvania Avenue to Madison Drive, NW

  • Constitution Avenue between 7th Street and 3rd Street, NW

  • Pennsylvania Avenue between 7th Street and 3rd Street, NW

If necessary, MPD said it will close down 6th Street from C Street to Constitution Avenue in Northwest for “public safety and traffic mitigation.”

The street closures and times could change depending on unexpected events.

Drivers would expect possible delays and are asked to look out for increased pedestrian traffic, MPD said.
