Nashville's Rock N' Roll marathon returns Saturday, after its one-year hiatus due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Officials are anticipating nearly 13,000 runners to participate in the event. This year's course starts at 8th Avenue and Broadway for the marathon and half marathon runners, and on 8th Avenue and Demonbreun for 6.15 mile and 5k runners.

The course then weaves down through Belmont University, up to Bicentennial Park, over the Woodland Street Bridge, through Shelby Park, until runners reach Nissan Stadium.

Road closures and parking

The complete 26.2-mile course will be closed to traffic starting at 5:45 a.m. on Saturday.

Those trying to park in the Pinnacle Bank garage downtown are being asked to come early and be in the garage by 6:15 a.m. The final securing of the route will prevent traffic flow into the Pinnacle garage after 6:15 a.m, according to officials.

Those intending to park in the Music City Center garage can only access it from Korean Veterans Boulevard at 6th Avenue South.

The James Robertson Parkway and Woodland Street Bridges will also be closed. Traffic along the course will be restricted until all runners have passed.

Officials said they would make an effort to accommodate people who need to cross the route to get into works or homes, as long as it does not directly interfere with the race.
