Road closed after fatal crash near Myakka River State Park, deputies say
The Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a crash near Myakka River State Park on Thursday.
The crash was on State Road 72, just three miles east of the park. The Florida Highway Patrol arrived at the scene of the crash at 1 p.m. Officials are asking residents to use other routes, as the road is expected to be closed for several hours.

Sheriff's officials and troopers were unable to give information on the events that led up to the crash or how many people were injured or killed.
Deputies are assisting the Florida Highway Patrol, as they continue to investigate the crash.
