New River Valley Jail inmate apprehended after escaping

PULASKI COUNTY, Va. (WFXR)– The New River Valley Regional Jail says an inmate is back in custody after escaping on Saturday, March 9.

According to jail officials, inmate Robert Dustin Radford escaped custody from the New River Valley Regional Jail while waiting to be processed. He allegedly slipped out a door that was left open to let vehicles out of a secured area of the facility.

Radford was pursued by the jail’s officers into the woods behind Camrett Logistics. Pursuing officers lost Radford and alerted the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office. They set up a perimeter around the Pulaski County Animal Control Center.

The jail reports Radford was eventually apprehended on the 700 block of East Main Street in Dublin.
