Rita’s Italian Ice giving away free treats on first day of spring

(WHTM) — Rita’s Italian Ice recently announced that they will be giving away free ice treats to celebrate the first day of spring.

According to Rita’s, the free Italian ice giveaway will be held on Tuesday, March 19 across all of their locations nationwide.

Guests who visit Rita’s location on the first day of spring will receive a free 6-ounce Italian Ice in an available flavor of their choice. Visitors will be able to choose from Rita’s classic flavors or their brand new Sour Patch Kids Watermelon Ice.

Rita’s says they are expecting to give away approximately 1 million cups of ice across their 550+ locations.

Rita’s Italian Ice was founded back in May of 1984 by a Philadelphia firefighter named Bob Tumolo, who named the beloved franchise after his wife Rita.
